On May 17, coinciding with the 8th China-Russia Expo, two events were successfully held in Harbin. The China-Russia Industrial Cooperation Exchange Meeting, hosted by Harbin Federation of Industry and Commerce and undertaken by Heilongjiang New Economic Industrial Park, as well as the Russia-oriented Trade Policy Interpretation & North-South Entrepreneurs Exchange Conference organized by Harbin Furniture Association and fully supported by Harbin Municipal Bureau of Commerce, took place as scheduled.

Over 20 enterprise leaders from Harbin Furniture Industry Association, Chamber of Home Decoration under Harbin Federation of Industry and Commerce, Home China (Shenzhen) Creative Design Week, Guangzhou Furniture Association, as well as furniture manufacturers across northern and southern China attended the Sino-Russian trade exchange event. Mr. Zhou Zhirui, General Manager of Nuochi Brothers, was invited by Home China (Shenzhen) Creative Design Week and Harbin Furniture Industry Association to participate in the conference.

At the opening of the meeting, Ms. Zhang Ping, President of Harbin Furniture Industry Association, addressed the significance of this exchange event. She stated that the China-Russia Expo serves as a key platform for economic and trade exchanges, industrial docking, investment promotion and international cooperation. It is the only exhibition included in the joint communiqué issued during the meetings between the heads of state of China and Russia. Centering on the theme Cooperation, Win-win & Opportunities, the event stands as one of China’s most important windows for trade with Russia.

Interpretation of Trade Policies towards Russia

At the meeting, Mr. Wen Shiwei, First-Class Researcher of Harbin Municipal Bureau of Commerce, elaborated on the current situation and relevant policies of trade with Russia, covering market demand, logistics, settlement and other aspects. On behalf of furniture enterprises, Mr. Xiao Jiancheng, General Manager of Shenzhen Creative Design Week & Shenzhen International Home Furnishing Soft Decoration Expo, expressed his confidence that with the efforts of Harbin Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Harbin Furniture Industry Association, entrepreneurs from northern and southern China will enjoy smoother development of trade channels with Russia.

Later, the General Manager of Tula Regional Development & Support Group LLC of Russia and representatives from all parties extended a warm welcome to Chinese enterprises to invest in Russia, and answered various questions raised by the attendees.
